HF Broadcasting monitoring Software SIOFST
SIOFST was designed by Norbert Schall.
The aim of the program is to provide continuous measurements of broadcast signals and evaluation over a time slot of multiples of 5 minutes. (typical 30 minutes).
Additionally the recording of each frequency can be enabled. The results of the measurements will be packed and send via email automatically to the recipient of the data.
Using the SIOVIEW software the received data can be evaluated and recorded audio can be played back. An algorithm developed by the author in 1982 opened the possibility to have a SIO-like rating done automatically by the software. This algorithm is based on an audio measurement which determines the audio signal-to-noise ratio and in connection with other factors like adjacent channel signal strength and the fading margin of the wanted signal it allows to create a I and O- rating including remarks like +,-,F,N.
